The 60-metre superyacht MADAME KATE has won Best Semi Custom Built Yacht (25m and above) at the Asia Boating Awards during the Singapore Yacht Show. The AMELS team proudly accepted the trophy, thanking the owners and representative Yachting Concept, exterior designer Tim Heywood and interior designer Laura Sessa.
Since debuting in Monaco in 2015, the remarkable MADAME KATE (an AMELS 199) has charmed and impressed juries around the world, including recent wins at the 2016 ShowBoats Design Awards and at the 2015 Monaco Yacht Show Gala Awards (read about the Royal visit on board following the Gala wins). The Asia Boating Awards are widely recognized as the best maritime industry awards in Asia. In 2013 the same award went to the 55-metre AMELS 180 yacht ENGELBERG (now GENE MACHINE).
Laura Sessa’s award-winning interior design on MADAME KATE features bold geometry and natural curves, creating a perfect balance with the radically modern Tim Heywood exterior design. MADAME KATE definitely stands out from the crowd with Tim Heywood’s eye-catching ‘scimitar’ bow, as well as unique pearl effect paintwork that is sure to turns heads in sunlight, and elaborate lighting above and below the waterline. The very best of AMELS design and engineering, the yacht has an exceptionally clever layout, sustainable technology and high comfort thanks to very low noise and vibrations and excellent seakeeping.
The combination is a holistic masterpiece that really shows how the owners made the most of the AMELS Limited Editions approach to create something new and wonderful that reflected their lifestyle.
