Luxury yacht ALWAELI is a 68-metre yacht, custom built in 1991 by CRN Shipyard. Terence Disdale created her beautiful exterior and
interior design. ALWAELI offers accommodation for up to 24 guests in 12 suites. She is also capable of carrying up to 19 crew.
ALWAELI arrived at the yard for what was originally planned to be a machinery and systems overhaul as well as interior décor changes and a restyled exterior. But when work was about halfway completed, the owners requested additional work, which extended the timeframe to 18 months.
The Refit Department reinforced the hull scantlings to allow the installation of zero-speed stabilisers, something the CRN-built yacht didn’t have. AMELS did extensive work to the luxury areas and crew accommodations. A thorough mechanical and electrical refurbishment included addition top-of-the-line audiovisual/entertainment and IT systems.
The sundeck was redesigned to accommodate an elevator which connects all the decks, a new sunbathing area, a shaded dining area, a jacuzzi, and new teak decking. The yacht was re-painted from top to bottom, and returned to her owners in pristine condition.
Jim Alabaster, owners’ representative for the project reported: “I am extremely happy with the work, which was carried out to the highest possible standards. I am also impressed with the skills of the people involved. The refit managers were exemplary in making sure that the work was done as planned, and as promised - on time and on budget. I am absolutely delighted!”
